Mercato Centrale ~ Firenze

Friday 18 August ~ Florence

Mercato Centrale (pronounced: /Mer-KAH-toh chen-TRAH-lay/) is in the heart of town. Outdoors is much like any mercado we have visited in Latin America: crowded stalls with vendors hawking leather goods, tee-shirts, nick-nacks, and such. Up the stairs into the interior, it is much like the Los Angeles Central Market or even the Saluhallen we visited in Göteborg on this trip.

There, per our friend Lisa's advice, we ordered a fabulous sandwich from Perini. Yummmmmm!
