Burgbrohl

Sunday 13 August
We departed Stockholm in the early-early morning. My kanini (little rabbit) said good-bye to her native Sweden and headed off for adventures abroad!

We flew to Berlin where we had a 2-hour layover, then on to Köln/Bonn. All flights were on time. However, the luggage did not arrive and Air Berlin could not track it for us! (Note: It fortunately was found and finally delivered at 11PM...)

We got our rental car and futzed with the GPS to find our way to Harald and Michaela's home outside of Burgbrohl Buchholz - less than an hour drive from the Köln/Bonn airport. However, their home (as we recalled) is not easily found! Harald had to meet us in the village to guide us home.

We were welcomed with USA flag banner and a beautiful day!

We enjoyed a sumptuous lunch of fish stew, then a rest. As our luggage was lost, Michaela procured some yellow shorts for Ned. She perceived that Ned was uncomfortable wearing long pants on such a beautiful day.

Harald und Ned

For dinner, Michaela prepared a lovely mango-cured salmon-avocado dish with much-appreciated salad, the lettuces all from her garden and house-roasted seeds.
The wines that Harald poured were divine!
