Farewell to Scandinavia

Friday 11 August

For our last dinner in Stockholm, we were upgraded from a noisy bistro to an elegant restaurant, sharing the same kitchen.

Saturday 12 August
We had until 3PM when taxi was scheduled to pick us up at the Hotell Örnsköld, so we wandered the city and had lunch at a lovely outdoor café, the Berns BistroBar, in the park nearby.

Stockholm's Arlanda (not Orlando...) International Airport is 26 miles north of Stockholm - a 45 minute cab ride.  It is actually closer to the university city of Uppsala. As our flight to Germany is scheduled to depart at O-Dark-30 (6:20AM) and given that Arlanda is so far from Stockholm, we decided to get a room at the Radisson Blu that is IN the Arlanda Airport - between terminals 4 and 5.

It was such fun watching planes land and take off from our elegant, reasonably priced and very quiet hotel room!

We say good bye (Hej) to Scandinavia and Tack så mycket (thank you very much) to both Sweden and Norway. We look forward to our next adventure with our dear friends in Germany. Stay tuned! ~ Ann and Ned
